J. SCOTT HUCKS

J. SCOTT HUCKS is a native of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Horry County. During and after graduation from law school at the University of South Carolina, he worked for the state's Department of Revenue and Attorney General's office, as well as the 15th Circuit Solicitor's Office. This provided him with valuable experience as a prosecutor, which allows your case to been seen through the state's eyes. J. Scott Hucks was raised in Horry County, South Carolina. After attending Carolina Coastal University for his bachelor's degrees in Politial Science and History, and law school at the University of South Carolina, he worked for the South Carolina Department of Revenue and Attorney General's office, as well as an Assistant Solicitor for the 15th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

During this time, he handled thousands of cases in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area. His years of experience both defending those accused of crimes and as a prosecutor gave him an invaluable understanding of the best ways to handle a case and the distinctive aspects of local and regional courts.

Beyond the courtroom, he relies on a bevy of community service experiences, such as his position in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence in Washington, D.C., working on local and national political comapaigns, Coaching Middle and High School Mock Trial, working other local charitable agencies in the community.

These sharpened his negotiation and communication skills on many levels. J. Scott Hucks understands successful trial strategy from his work as a prosecutor and Assitant Solicitor, combined with his experience in Defending a vast array of criminal offenses. This aids him in developing effective defense strategies for his clients today.
